About My Passion

I have been in Tattooing for about twenty years now, but my interest in tattooing goes back further than that. I was probably about twelve years of age, when my father took me into a pub and sitting at the bar was a big man who was covered in art work. Obviously I did not realise I was steering at this man who was smiling at me. Anyway it turned out this guy was a merchant seaman. From that day on I was hooked, not only in to the art work on this guy but by the stories he had to tell, and the places he had been to, he was a collection everywhere he went he pickup a new piece each having some kind of special meaning to him.

At the age of 16 I went to Gravesend Sea-School for a career at sea and this was my love for the next ten years sailing across the world visiting different ports and always getting tattoos. When I left the merchant navy, I had already been around it at least twice, I decided to ashore. My interest in Tattooing growing all the time I managed to get a starter kit from a friend who was a tattooist and started practising on myself, friends and pigskin. I have never looked back and have never lost interest.

I can now and do specialise in all styles of Tattooing, the machines I use a rotary not a buzz gun as I find these machines can frighten and intimidate new customers simply because of the noise they make, where as rotaries are quite this gives the first timer re-assurance. They are also much easier to use and maintain well. I think so anyway.

I have recently started tattooing courses - this is a four week beginners course which covers all aspects of tattooing broken down over four weeks. I started this because as for as I know there are not many schools in the UK. I am always getting people phoning me up and asking how do you get into tattooing, well apart from hanging around tattoo shops trying to pick up information which is very hard to get as most tattooist are self though which many people can not believe but it is true.

I believe this is a excellent course and a good chance for somebody who is interested to learn from me on a one to one basis as I only teach one student at the time.
